WHAT WE LIKE

The ease of use, being able to carry this around and whittle on a whim or take it out to carve a stick at the park is much easier than carrying the open blade wood handles. This knife is an excellent investment for whittling on the go.

Great knife, fits the hand well, is super sharp out of the box, and easy to hone to keep it that way.

WHAT WE DON’T LIKE

The knife is super hard to open, you have to apply a lot of force to open it which makes you feel like you could be on the verge of an injury. The wood inlay of this knife is very dry which is not ideal, it could use some oil.

The handle could stand to be rounded from a comfort point of view.

PROS

  • Easy to use
  • Comfortable to carry
  • Good for whittling on the go
  • Fits the hand well
  • Sharp out of the box

CONS

  • The knife is hard to open/close
  • The wood inlay is very dry
  • The handle could be more comfortable.

The No.07 Carbon Steel Pocket Knife is a handy tool to have in your pocket at any time. Slightly smaller than the famous No.08, the No.07 is great for slightly smaller hands or smaller pockets.

The blade has been designed and perfected over generations to maximize the cutting quality and ensure it’s easy to sharpen after years of hard work. Use it in the garden, at the dinner table, or even on your next adventure.

Keep the knife in your pocket, purse, or toolbox and we are certain you’ll love it for years to come. The patented VIROBLOC locking mechanism keeps your knife safely closed in your pocket and locks the blade open during use.

The simplicity of the knife’s design and its sustainable wooden handle makes the knife lightweight too!

WHAT WE LIKE

The blade is extremely sharp. The blade feels and acts thinner than it actually is, meaning it is stronger than it looks. The whole knife is very lightweight and sleek in the pocket.

The locking mechanism works better and is easier than expected. It holds the blade open or closed plenty effectively for anything such a knife ought to be used for.

The wood handle has a nice feel and is comfortable to use.

WHAT WE DON’T LIKE

Although the locking mechanism is effective, it’s only effective if you remember to do it. It’s just a blade on a swivel, and therefore lacks any tactile positivity when opening or closing the knife.

The all-wood handle makes one hesitant to use the knife for some tougher applications due to doubting the integrity of the join on the handle.

PROS

  • Extremely sharp
  • The blade is stronger than it looks
  • Lightweight and sleek
  • The locking mechanism is effective
  • Wooden handle comfortable to use

CONS

  • Have to remember to engage the locking mechanism manually
  • Lacks tactile positivity when opening/closing
  • A wood handle’s integrity is questionable

WHAT WE LIKE

The blades are sharp and not overly thick, which makes for easy strokes. Also, the blades are tight and open securely. When closed it is flat and easily carried in your pocket. It is also a lightweight knife making it easy to carry.

WHAT WE DON’T LIKE

The handle could be improved if it were wider and a little more rounded and it can be difficult to grip as a result. The handle shape overall is awkward. The blade could stand to be slightly longer.  Does not have an effective locking mechanism which is dangerous.

  • Sharp blades
  • Blades are tight
  • Folds flat

  • Easy to use

WHAT WE LIKE

Blades open and close smoothly with a snap to the open/closed position. Fit is excellent, the finish is good, smooth, not polished. This is a well-made knife that usefully folds so that you can carry and store the knife safely.

The blade shapes and their sizes are useful and good overall. The knife feels comfortable in the hand.

WHAT WE DON’T LIKE

Moderately sharp from the factory but will need to be sharpened, honed, and stropped to do any serious carving. This knife seems more suited for easy chip carving and relief carving, whittling blades are too short for some carving.

Takes a decent enough edge, but doesn’t hold it for long. You will have to regrind the bevel. The burl wood inserts are nice but feel loose on the edges.

PROS

  • Blades open and close easily
  • Excellent fit and finish
  • Well made
  • Folds away for easy storage

CONS

  • Blades will require sharpening
  • More suited for easy whittling
  • Wood inserts are loose on the edges
