1. Kreg KMS7200 Bandsaw Fence

Kreg shows off their KMS7200 bandsaw fence model that can accurately cut the measurements you want with your bandsaw. How did Kreg do it? They attached a precision lens cursor to the fence so you can stay consistent.

The KMS7200 is very adjustable to most bandsaw types, and it’s adaptable when it’s not needed. Kreg learned that the problem with most bandsaws is that you will need an extra worktable to perform tasks that don’t need the fence’s assistance. Woodshop owners were losing more money in their budget due to this matter. They created an interchangeable design for different cutting tasks for one bandsaw by exchanging the fence bolts with a locking knob.

Their T-slots on the fence’s structure are adjustable to cut different wood heights. With just one, you can simply change it by detaching it and reattaching it on the bandsaw using different angles. Or, if you are tackling logs, you can an additional slotted fence for a higher height. Thanks to their magnetism, they will stay in place while you cut.

One complaint while using a bandsaw is when the blade starts to drift, causing your cuts to add small curves to your wood. Thankfully, the KMS7200 straightens your blade for straight cuts. When it is time to cut curvy wooden shapes, you can readjust the fence to allow blade drifts.

Powertec brings their similar bandsaw fence design in their 71489 model. They also have a T-slotted bandsaw fence to aid you in straight cutting your wood. On the surface, it’s branded with different measurements of standard cuts you want manually.

Unlike Kreg’s model, Powertec’s design needs to be bolted down on the bandsaw’s worktable to be kept on. It will need to be unscrewed if you want to readjust it for different types of wood height. Unfortunately, on its own, the 71489 does not come with a bracket and needs to be purchased separately. While it’s time-consuming, the measurements can help trainees and beginner wood craftsmen learn about the wood standards.

It makes up for its interchangeability by connecting with multiple fences to create small workstations that can fit on a school desk. And can be used with lithium batteries to operate the flip stop. If you don’t want to waste time bolting and unscrewing, using another bandsaw for other cuts can help.

Shop Fox offers their D3575 bandsaw fence design with railings for sawing assistance. One rail keeps the fence bolted down onto the worktable while the other assists the craftsman to be consistent with their cuts.

The assisting rail has a scale labeled with different cut sizes, each being a standard wood size. Luckily, a magnification glass is attached to view them on a larger scale. However, it’s not adaptable to be unbolted from the table to adjust for height. Nor can it adapt to other bandsaw sizes.

This product is also required to wear safety equipment on your body as you handle it as it’s labeled with Proposition 65 for causing cancer and birth defects due to the chemicals from the bandsaw fence’s paint coating. If you are someone who is looking for a chemical-free coated bandsaw fence, stay away from the D3575.

Alongside Powertec’s Multi T-Track Fence, there is also their BS900RF model, the Rip Fence. The Rip Fence is an aluminum bandsaw fence that can help craftsmen stay straight on their cuts without any blade drift. It can be attached to most bandsaw worktables, and it’s detachable in case of any tasks that don’t require straight-cut wood.

Unlike their 71489 model, Powertec’s BS900RF model can stay on the worktable using cam-levered clamps instead of bolts. This saves lots of time as they act similar to the locking knob on Kreg’s KMS7200 model. 

Sadly, its adaptability to taller pieces of wood can’t be extended on its own. Neither does it come branded with measurements of the woodcut standards. You will have to grab a magnetic ruler if you want to stay consistent.

On the other hand, this bandsaw fence comes in fully assembled by Powertec. And while the aluminum may fool you that it looks like the body is heavy, surprisingly, it’s very light.

Our last contender comes from Carter. They bring in the heat with their multi-purpose bandsaw fence, the Magfence II, that can be used on other worktable equipment.

Similar to Kreg’s model, it has magnetism with its T-slotted fence. It can be taken off and put back on a worktable in an instant. With two universal magnets, they act as strong bolts to keep the fence steady while you cut. They do not attract each other due to both having the same polar field. However, unlike the first two bandsaws, it’s not adjustable to add height for taller pieces of wood.

If you look at the fence’s design closely, the T-slotted area is only one side instead of multiple. There are also holes for the magnetic bolts to stay locked onto the table. There are no measurements branded on the fence’s surface, which are vital for craftsmen to stay consistent with their cut standards. Carter does provide magnetic alignment rulers that do have them on. But it must be bought separately from the Magfence II.
